Help!!! So I just replaced my lower control arm on my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my mechanic told me that I may need a CV axle. I just picked up my car and there’s a loud humming noise when I reach speeds of 20 mph and over, which I’ve never had before until this incident. Backstory is my sister slamed my car into a bank of snow and hit the curb underneath and snap the passenger side lower control arm so I’m guessing she also did some other damage to it. Anyways is the loud humming noise because of a CV axle damage? He won’t be able to look at it till Friday after thanksgiving so I just need to know what to look out for.
The humming noise may from a damaged wheel bearing when the vehicle hit the curb.
