2009 Ford Explorer cranks but won’t start

I have a 2009 ford explorer it stalled while driving now cranks but doesn’t start

A faulty crankshaft position sensor will cause an engine to stall and not restart.

I don’t know how many times I have heard this on Car Talk, but the first thing to do is determine if you have spark. If you have spark, then it could be a fuel supply issue. Before buying any parts, it’s easy to determine if you have spark. It’s not quite as easy to determine if fuel supply is an issue.

Actually I think it is easier to test for fuel. Just a shot of starting fluid into the intake. If it will run on the starting fluid its not a spark problem.
