2008 Volvo C70 cooling fan runs extended time after engine is turned off, why?
Because the engine is still hot? Is this a new phenomenon? Does the gauge show it’s running hotter than usual? If it is the thermostat could need replacing or the coolant could be low. Or the temperature sensor or fan relay might be faulty. An actual mechanic with access to the vehicle can tell you for sure.
The engine is going to be the hottest immediately after it’s turned off because the water pump stops circulating coolant. Volvos of this era (my dad had two different mid 2000s era Volvos a C70 and I think an S40 or an S60) run the cooling fan for 2-5 minutes after the engine is shut off to help cool the engine down after driving
