If I want reliability my rule of thumb was to buy a used car with 10K to 25K miles and a good reputation. It has been through most of it’s depreciation, early failures and early recalls, and might have some warranty left. I did violate that rule when I bought a used 2007 Miata with 58K miles on it. I did not expect to put more than a couple of thousand a year on it and I did talk it over with a trusted mechanic, Benny Blackstone. He said he hates Miatas, nothing ever goes wrong with them.
Thank you!!!
