My driver’s side airbag light comes on in cold weather. this will stay on for approx 15 min, until the car warms up. when I took it to my local Ford dealer, I was told that it would be $115 just to diagnose! They thought it was an electrical problem, and most likely it would be okay. Your thoughts?
When the light is on, the airbag will not work. Could be multiple things like calibration, wiring or module. See if they will knock off all or part of the diagnostic fee if they fix it. This is not for DIY.
Mechanics need to get paid for the time it takes to diagnose a problem. This should not be hard to understand. You wouldn’t expect your doctor to examine you for free, why would you expect a mechanic to?
