what is the accurate gas tank capacity for a 2007 Prius?
according to the owners manual, 11.9 gallons

11.9 gallons
Many Prius owners have had fuel tank capacity problems. The Prius has a “bladder tank”, there is a bladder inside the tank that reduces in size as the fuel level drops. This reduces the volume of vapors in the tank. Sometimes the bladder does not expand to accept fuel while refueling.
Here is an example of the problem;
Nevada is correct. Many Toyota Hybrid models suffer from tanks that do not seem to hold the “specified” amount of fuel. It would be wise to reserve at least 2 gallons based on what I have seen. This has been a Toyota thing for decades. My 1979 Toyota Supra ran out of fuel at 3/4s of a tank shortly after I bought it.
