2007 Chevy Silverado: Only Tweeters work until hot outside

Hello all,

I’m seeing all sorts of questions online about speakers and such, but no real answers to this problem:

Only my tweeters work until it’s hot outside. This poses a huge problem because I can barely hear OnStar, can’t hear the warning tones for things like key in ignition, OnStar can barely hear me either.

Closing or opening the truck doors doesn’t help or change the situation. Hitting rough roads doesn’t either. Where could the problem be? Amplifier?

How old are the speakers? After 8 years, the factory speakers can fail at any time. Replacement speakers are cheap, but some can be challenging to replace. If new speakers don’t work, you’ll probably need to replace the head unit.
