My 2006 Toyota Sienna is making a diesel sound as it approaches 15-20 mph or as it climbs hills. Trying to figure out what all needs to be checked/replaced. The noise doesn’t happen all the time but is more frequent now. Vehicle only has 36,000 miles. Thanks for the assistance.

Don’t figure anything. Take it to the dealer ASAP. This likely is under warranty.
My wife’s 2006 Sienna makes no such noise so this needs to be checked out soon. Perhaps it is pinging under load and needs premium. However, we’ve used regular gas since new with no problems.
Have you checked the oil? If it is an engine problem, the powertrain warranty is 5/60k.
