Good morning everyone! I bought a new 2006 Honda crv several years ago. Recently, A grinding sound comes from the rear of the car when I make a sharp left or right turn, such as exiting a parking lot. The noise stops after the vehicle straightens out. I bought new tires, and the noise continues. Has anyone else experienced this? The car is going to the dealer soon and it would be a good idea to have an idea of what the noise might be. THANKS!!!
Has anyone else experienced this? Judging from the number of people who have asked the exact same question, apparently a very large percentage of CR-V owners have encountered this problem. The solution, believe it or not, is to change the gear oil in the rear differential.
In the unlikely event that the dealership is not aware of this problem with that vehicle, you should ask that they refer to TSBs that Honda has issued on this situation. Just be sure that the oil that is used is the special dual-pump Honda specification differential oil.
