2006 Chrysler Sebring - Prophylactic head gasket

It seems Chrysler Sebring 6 cyl engines have a poor record for blown head gaskets. Does it make better sense to replace the head gaskets BEFORE they blow?

I would think after 12 years you’re safe. If your driving is limited to local trips just keep an eye on your gauges. Shut it down immediately if the temperature starts to increase. For a long road trip I would rent a car.

Thanks for your response. The car has only 120k miles and I use it as a fun driver. It is a convertible and my 3rd car so it won’t get much heavy pressure on the road. I had ridden motorcycle cruisers until my knees got bad. I’m 73 so I try not to push stuff like I once did.

The car may be a gift to a grandson in a couple of years.
