Can anyone tell me how to change a battery in a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?
With respect, is there some sort of explanation behind this?
If you don;t know what you’re doing, you’d be better to let a shop do it. They’ll check the charging system, test the battery, put a temporary power source on it such that it doesn’t lose any presets, and even do it properly such that the battery doesn’t explode acid into your face.
Post back.
A car parts store like Advance Auto Parts will sell you a new battery and install it for you. They will even take away the old one (they get paid to recycle it).
Sears auto does this all the time also. I think they’ll check your charging system and install the battery for free if you purchase the battery at Sears.
The battery is located under the engine management computer on the drivers side fender apron.
Unclip the computer from the lid of the battery box and set it aside.
Remove the three Phillips screws from battery box lid and remove the lid.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal and then the positive battery terminal.
Remove the battery from the battery box.
Installation of the new battery is the reverse of removal.
