2006 Toyota 4Runner Trunk will not lock. You close the trunk and it attempts to lock but doesn’t latch all the way.

Replace the latch.
Make sure there is not a piece of something blocking the latch mechanisim.
Try lubing the lock first. If that doesn’t work, consider replacement.
