2005 Subaru Forester - tire rotation question

How often to rotate tires on my 2005 Forester

Every time you drive it. :smirk:

Seriously, about every 5000 miles just like any vehicle.

This is one of those questions tailor made for Google . A simple search will give you articles from Wikipedia to Michelin .

Agree with you, but on a Subaru proper and timely rotation is crucial to prevent excessive wear on the drive train. The owner’s manual should have very adequate info on that.

Read… your… owners’… manual.

I have a Forester as well as having had three other Subies and got even tire wear by rotating every time I change the oil or spring and fall for the ones that had a set of winter tires. No special treatment necessary due to the AWD.

Actually, Subaru provides a separate booklet titled, Warranty and Maintenance.
If the OP opens that booklet, he will find that Subaru specifies tire rotation every 7,500 miles.
However, some people do it every 5,000 miles.

The detail that is vital is to have the tires rotated on a consistent basis, so the OP should decide whether he wants to go with every 5k or every 7.5k miles, and then stick to that schedule.
