I need to wire my new head unit into the + Reverse light so that the back up cam turns on.
Can anyone point me to where to find that wire and in what harness?
You might post this on a Ford Taurus forum, more of them sold than the Sable, same car except for badges and some styling.
I think it might be worth a call to an Auto sound shop to see if they might complete the wiring for a resonable cost .
Connect the backup signal wire to the reverse light wire at the tail lamp.
Using a test light, back-probe the two wires connected to the reverse light socket while in reverse (ignition on/engine off) to identify the positive wire.
Somewhere between the fuse box, neutral safety switch and the back up lights and a module or 2… lol
I found this, check it out and maybe even asked around the forum…

Thanks. I was hoping to not run a wire from the dash all the way back there. Was hoping to find the wire in the cabin somewhere if it even exists there.
There is a wiring harness with 40 to 50 wires going from the fuse box/junction block to the rear of the vehicle. Rather than trying to find that wire, it would be safer to connect to the backup lamp.
Fair enough. That’s the plan then.
Thank you.
