What could cause my Grand Prix to induce a grinding noise and that it wants to jerk the (steering)wheel to a halt when i turn eft.
Instead of going on the web with this problem have this thing towed to good shop before you crash. This is a dangerous problem .
Could be a seriously problem w/a CV joint. Wheel bearing problem is another possibility. Given the severity of the symptoms, suggest to have your car towed, not driven, to your shop. CV joint, wheel bearing, most likely a moderately priced repair. If you want to do something yourself first , you could check to make sure all the lug nuts are installed properly on the wheels.
Does it do this while braking and turning left only or just turning left, and what do you mean by halt, does the steering wheel jerk left and stop turning in mid turn or?? Please give us more info…
1st thing, don’t be driving it on busy roads or anywhere kids are out playing, could be very dangerous or worse as already stated…
You need to figure out if it is in the axle or the rack-n-pinion unit or anything else… If you do not have tools, a jack and jack stands, then you either have to get some or have your vehicle towed to a repair shop…
Have someone check if there’s a broken strut spring.
A broken spring is what tore the sidewall of this tire up.

Signs of a Bad Power Steering Pressure Switch
The most common signs of a bad power steering pressure switch are loss of power steering, grinding noises when turning, and difficulty in turning the wheel. In some cases, there may also be a temporary loss of power while driving, as well as an increase in fuel consumption due to increased resistance from the steering system. If any of these symptoms are present, it is important to have your vehicle checked out by a certified mechanic as soon as possible.
