Dead batteries! The fob and car. Replaced both! Car refuses to start. Lights, car cranks but will not turn over. Is this a safe mode lock out? Or can this be a memory loss.
You need to explain what “refuses to start” means exactly.
Cranking and turning over are the same thing.
If the car sit with a dead battery for too long the keys will have to be reprogrammed. This was my experience and solution with a 2003 Taurus back in 2014. No further issues after the reprogramming.
