I was just leaving my neighborhood and tried to turn left. There was a loud binding pop sound and the car wouldn’t go. The front driver’s side tire won’t move when I turn the wheel. I was able to park it safely by the curb, but I had to manually turn the wheel by hand and maneuver the car a little at a time. It’s too dark to look at it now, so I can’t tell what is wrong.
Control arm? Something else? How much do they run?
It could be a drive shaft bearing, commonly called a CV. But do you have a history of other sounds or issues with this car and how many miles?
