The VSC, TRAC OFF and CHECK engine lights are on 2nd time. 1st time -loose gas cap. 2nd time-loose gas cap BUT tightened cap didn’t fix it
Buy a new gas cap. They’re fairly cheap.
Did you read out the error codes the engine set? What are they?
There are hundreds of engine or emissions systems problems that can cause the Check Engine Light to start glowing. And, when that light goes on, the VSC and traction control systems will be automatically disabled.
Yes, that is the key question. If the OP assumes that a bad gas cap is the only possibility, he is missing out on the specifics that will be provided by a reading of the diagnostic trouble codes that have been stored by the car’s OBD system.
A visit to AutoZone, Advance Auto, O’Reilly, or (possibly) Napa will enable him to have those codes read–free of charge–and then he can return to this thread and post those codes for further help.
