2004 Kia Optima Air Bag Light

My air bag light turned on after my heavy set friend sat down hard in the passanger seat. It won’t turn off now. Anyone heard of this or what I can do to get it to turn off?

In the worst case, the occupant sensor in the seat may have been damaged. In the best case, a cable under the seat was somehow disconnected. If the latter, then the cable just needs to be plugged back in. If the former, then the sensor will have to be replaced.

Do these have sensors in the seat? It is such a cheap car I wouldn’t think it would.
