2004 Honda CR-V

When turning this vehicle sharp (in either direction) from a stand still it feels like the tires are hitting the rumble strip on the side of a highway. I don’t think the tires are rubbing the vehicle.

Any ideas?

Is it the same for both right and left turns?

It may due to your AWD if you have it. Have the rear portion of AWD looked at, typically it just involves simply replacing the fluid in CRV’s.

Oddly enough, it’s the fluid in the rear differential. It should be replaced at 30,000 mile intervals or every 4 years. I had mine replaced a week ago and the noise went away. Honda dealers are well aware of the problem and have a technical service bulletin to alert them to the problem. If the noise doesn’t completely go away, they have an option to go further. See the attached TSB.
