A couple of weeks ago someone wrote in complaining about a gas smell with their 2004 Chevy truck. I had the exact same problem and found it to be a bad fuel pressure regulator. The bad diaphragm sucked gas into the intake area where it would sit until it was sucked, along with the air through the intake system. I removed the cover and could see the gas there. Once I replaced the FPR I no longer had a gas smell as the problem was fixed. Just thought I’d share that with a fellow car guy. DG
