The transfer case on this vehicle goes into “4 lock” when switch is in AWD. How can I tell if it a selector switch, encoder motor, low oil, or encoder motor electrical connection problem?
It isn’t probably what you want to hear, but I recommend starting with a wiring diagram and a test light. There is no better way to verify wiring integrity than running some current through it.
