Greetings,
My 2004 Chrysler Crossfire w/ 65k has developed an oil leak somewhere in the front of the engine. It is so bad that the alternator belt slipped off. Does anyone have knowledge of this type of oil leak with Crossfires and whether it is going to be a major expense? - Thx!
Can you tell where the oil is leaking from? Is it near the top of the engine or the bottom?
I don’t have any experience with this particular oil leak, but since the Crossfire is basically a Mercedes Benz, yes, it could potentially be a major expense.
On the other hand, it could be something simple like a leaking valve cover gasket.
It all depends on where the oil is coming from.
Chances are you will get a better answer at the Crossfire Forum:

Also, the serpentine belt shouldn’t just slip off, it was probably in need of being changed, and the oil helped push the worn belt over the edge (literally).
Common leak source for the Crossfire is the valve cover gaskets.
But if the oil leak is as bad as you say, I would inspect the front main oil seal, and the camshaft position sensor seal.
