My check engine light is on because the hybrid battery is deficient. Are there alternatives to replacement that will get me through Massachusetts state vehicle inspection?
The only alternative I could guess at is trade it in.
look for the shop around which “refurbishes” the old hybrid batteries
if you are lucky, it will be much less expensive than a replacement with a new unit
do not expect it to last as long as the original battery

Any reason the gasoline engine cannot run the car and do it with allowable pollution output?
Many states smog test do not allow a check engine light to be on
