Worth fixing? My favorite truck.

Only you can answer that question. If you like it and the rest is in good shape, sure a $3000 transmission is probably worth it. Don’t expect to get your money back if you sell it 2 months after the fix but the transmission should provide you with another 100K.

But change the fluid and filter in the transmission first. It might solve the problem. This is a little early for a transmission rebuild.
