What is the average life expectancy of a 2003 Ford F150 transmission? Currently there are less than 38,000 miles on this transmission and it had to be sent in for major repair (at the cost of no less than $1900).
Maybe it is a fluke or a monday morning made tranny, because shortest tranny life I have had was 60,000 (rough) miles. I would talk either to the dealer or to ford. The only thing that could have be a tranny up that quickly would have to be lack of fluid levels or driving the heck out of it.
I realize this is an old posting, but I’ll add my .02. I had to have my '02 trany rebuilt at 78,000 miles. Cost was $1,800 @ Colman Transmissions.
