Ok, so I have a 2003 Ford Escape and recently the coolant light came on. I filled up the reservoir tank and carried on, thinking perhaps the sensor was just ready to die. Checked the tank the next morning and it appears to be holding all the coolant I put in, but now I noticed that there is a 2 inch crack running horizontally along the “max” fill line, and when I drive, it bubbles and spits coolant inside the rest of the stuff under the hood. I was hoping I could glue it or plug it up with some kind of bonding agent. Is there a do it yourself fix your coolant reservoir section somewhere or should I just get it replaced?
Thanks! Melya
Just replace it. It won’t cost a fortune.
