2003 Dodge Sprinter blower motor works intermittently

I have a 2003 Dodge (Mercedes) Sprinter 2500 recently the blower motor for the ac/heater has been working intermittently. What is the most likely culprit? Thanks

I can think of two reasons, one is the heater fan relay is not working correctly or the heater resistor is on its way out. Both are easy to replace and relatively inexpensive. Unless the fan makes some “funny” noise, rumbling etc, I don’t think it’s the fan.

You can look in your fuse box, the relay should be marked. If you have another identical relay in the fuse box and it is not for a critical item you could swap them around and see if the problem moves with the switch.

I had a blower motor on a Ford Aerostar that I once owned. It was intermittent. On the Aerostar the blower motor was under the hood. I could get it to run by tapping on the motor with a screwdriver handle.
