I own a 2003 Chrysler town and country. I was driving home and all of a sudden the car just shut off. I coasted to the side of the road and tried to restart and nothing. The warning signals( ie seat belt etc) came on normal but when I turned the key nothing no sound. I have no clue as to what is wrong with it. Had it towed home and here it sits. Any suggestions. I do not have the money for a mechanic.
I would check battery connections and condition. Also, could be ignition key. When you try to turn it on, does the starter turn or just click?
No There is no sound when you turn on the key.
The battery may be discharged. Do you have or can you borrow a battery charger? Once running again you will need to measure the charging voltage with a voltmeter.
Does it still have a serpantine belt?
Find a digital voltmeter (they are very cheap to buy) and check to see what the battery has and report.
I still have all the belt. when the battery dies the car automatically locks the doors.
