I was convinced that Toyota had solved the problem. Then, some years later, serious frame rot problems reappeared on small Toyota pickups.

The most recent group of Toyota trucks are the 2005-2010 Tundra, Tacoma and 2005-2008 Sequoia, mid size and large trucks.

The frames, which lack adequate rustproofing, were supplied by Dana Holding Corp. of Maumee, Ohio. Photos of rust-damaged frames show severe corrosion of the frame rails and the high-stress area where the rear suspension leaf springs mount to the frame.

Not surprising since Dana supplies many manufacturers in North America.

My point was that there was a period when the problem disappeared completely… and then years later it reappeared. It wasn’t 30 years of a continuous problem.

is this the same Dana that supplies axles, differentials, suspension, etc. ?

If so, that’s extremely disappointing
