2002 nissan frontier

Front end makes metallic rattling/clanking sound. This happens when I make a right-hand turn, and the noise comes from the left-front wheel area. I describe it as the sound of dropping a handful of pots and pans.

Is this constant or intermittent?

It happens every time I turn right and load up the left front wheel. It even happens when I pull up into my driveway, which has a 15-20% slope, or when I run over some type of bump.

Again, thanks in advance for the help.

This could be something as simple as loose bolts holding the brake dust shield, or as major as a failing front drive half-shaft or even a strut. You should either start banging around until you figure out what it is - and fix it - or get someone to check into it.

There is a stop bolt in the frame that sets the limit of turning for the wheel. The end of the bolt has a polyethylene cover. When this cover wears off, then it makes that noise on tight turns. It will eventually make that noise in both directions.

It drove me nuts on my Nissan PU till I found it. I actually thought it might be the replacement shocks that I bought because they were longer than the OEM. Got another set of shocks that were the right size and still had the noise.
