2002 Honda Civic Cpe - Where can I affordably buy a car key?

I need a car key for a 2001 Honda Civic go to 2100 Civic key I lost my key can you guys help me out

I’m pretty sure that the dealer makes keys for your 2001/2002 Honda Civic, but you could call a Locksmith and either they can help you or know one that can…

I would say that depends on your definition of affordable. If it was my only car, and i lost my only key, and i needed the car to get to work, $500 would be affordable.

DVMP’s advice above is spot on, either Honda dealership or locksmith. If it is just a simple metal key, no electronics, no buttons etc, I expect fee for new key would be less than $50 at either vendor. You’ll need to provide the car’s VIN number & evidence you own the car, title/registration papers.

Search around for local locksmiths. They usually can get this done for about half the price that the Honda dealer charges.

To everybody out there. If you have any vehicle and only have one key, have another one made NOW! I am surprised how many folks have only one key and when they lose it they’re up **its creek!

Have you not seen the news reports about many new vehicles are being sold with only one key and it may take months before they send a second key .

I had a 2006 Corolla that we bought in 07 ad only had one key with seperate FOB, Put over 150K on it in 11 years, my wife drove it, and it was one one of many vehicles we had, I drove it and our kids drove it at times and never lost the one key we had… Always had extras for all the other cars though… lol
But when it got rear-ended and totaled I was cleaning out the glove box and found the paperwork from the sale in an envelope that also had another keychain FOB, but no key… Oops

True. But the owners can also use their cell phones until the 2nd key arrives.

Not on most cars and certainly not on an 02 Civic. None of my 3 cars has this capability.

Agreed. But Volvo was talking about the new cars sold during the chip shortage. I believe it was sometime last fall when various manufacturers began delivering new cars with only 1 key, saying the 2nd key would be provided “later”.
