Is this engine type subject to the famous GM intake gasket problem?
I don’t think its subject to that exact problem. But I think the plastic intake manifold is prone to cracking where the EGR tube connects to the plastic manifold. This crack could allow the engine to ingest coolant. Not sure the years thats effected thou.
If you have some time you can “google” DexCool settlement and read up on the issue,including car’s affected. What I do recall is that no V-8’s were ever included.
