My 2002 Camry has a “whooping” sound somewhere in the passenger compartment. It’s becomming more and more frequent, and it’s driving me nuts. What is it?

Does it make the noise while the engine is running or shut off?
Does it make the noise if the a/c/heater is on or off?
Does it make the noise if the vehicle is in motion or stopped?

Under what conditions does the sound occur?
The engine is running, the a/c is on, and the car is stopped or moving very slowly.
The engine is running, the a/c is on, and the car is either stopped or moving very slowly–under 5 mph.
It makes the noise: (1) when the engine is running; (2) with the a/c on; and (3) when it stopped or monvin at very low speed–5-10 mph.
So does it go away if you turn the AC off?
To be honest, I’ve never tried this. I’ll see what happpens–thanks.
My 2003 Camry XLE (6cyl) does the same thing. It drives me nuts and no one believes me when I describe it. Has anyone solved this problem? The discussion just peters out…
