My car is knocking loudly and repeatedly in the engine. It has oil.
Is it a tapping or a hard, solid knocking? Does the frequency of the knocking vary with engine RPM? Is it louder when just started or when warmed up? Are there any oil or check engine lights showing on the dash? Are they flashing?
I’d suggest you take it to a mechanic that can listen in person. Knocking is rarely a good thing.
