2001 Toyota Camry Solara - Keep it or let it go?

146,000 miles - standard transmission. Recently had to replace clutch master cylinder and accumulator. Still had problems shifting - repair shop test drove, re-bled clutch hydraulic system, etc - finally diagnosed something is binding in the transmission.

Should I look into pulling the transmission and rebuilt transmission - or “retire” the old girl?

Our CarTalk and BestRide colleague has some advice in this situation. Maybe you will find the article helpful.

Toyota… will go 300K miles IF well treated and serviced regularly.

Transmission repair … cheaper than a new car BY FAR

Retire the old girl, to what? A junkyard? Sounds like a steal of a deal for someone will to put a few dollars intoa repair.
