2001 Prius repairs?

I have a 2001 Prius with 110000 miles. It’s been very reliable and it runs well. High voltage batteries have just been replaced, still under warranty. Now it needs a new catalytic converter, new tires and a few smaller things to the tune of $2500 or more. Here is the age old question: Is it worth to put in this kind of money at this time?

I imagine that the $2500 price is from the dealer. Find a reliable independent mechanic and get prices with aftermarket parts. The catalytic converter should cost less than $200 for a stainless steel body; less than $100 for aluminized steel. I’d go with the SS body if you plan to keep the car more than 5 years.
