drops down to 2nd gear . Have to stop and turn off engine and restart then it goes ok again for a while.

When??? While doing 70 mph it drops down?? We need a little more info on when it does it and at what speed pleaseā€¦ Is this a 4-2 kickdown, 3-2 kickdown???

Your " RE4F04B" transmission has some known problems with the * No 3rd after 4-2 or 3-2 kickdown

  • Leaky, worn, bad design direct clutch (3rd) inner sealā€¦

Donā€™t think that is your issue but not much to go on until we have more infoā€¦

Might be limp mode. Is the check engine light on? Are there any active diagnostic codes in computer memory?
