After installing new front strut mounts on a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina will a front wheel alignment be necessary? If you hash mark the position of the struts before removing, then align to the hash marks when reinstalling, will front wheel alignment be necessary? Thanks for your advice.
Its always a good thing to do an alignment when changing suspension parts. Alignment is always necessary when replacing tie rods.
In theory, no, it will not be necessary. The factory that built it did not align it after assembly. None of the bolt holes are elongated slots nor do they have any adjustment in them except at the tie rod ends as @COROLLAGUY1 points out.
But, if the parts you are using were made by any other company other than the original supplier, they likely are not quite the same and alignment is still advised.
