Tried to schedule transmission maintenance with a recommended mechanic. Refused unless I signed a waiver holding him harmless if the transmission failed and service. Said that my truck had too many miles. 140,000, without prior service. Is that reasonable? What are the chances that servicing, flushing fluid, would cause damage to the transmission?
Without knowing service history I feel that the mechanic was just doing a reasonable request. There are just too many times when mechanics are blamed for something failing after they have done work or service . Who knows if your trans will go 10 more miles or 10000 miles.
