2001 Ford Ranger - Oil spot question

I have a round oil spot at rear of my little pickup. It’s a stick shift.Could the rear end seal be leaking? I am a woman & don’t know much about cars.

If it is truly at the rear end of the truck, probably a leaking rear differential. & yes, that could be just a seal needs replacement. Not an uncommon thing. On my Ford truck there’s two seals, pinion seal, and cover seal. When I had one of those seals replaced (forget which one) on my truck, fairly inexpensive. Good idea to do a smell test to make sure it isn’t gasoline you are seeing. Gas tank probably in same area, rear of truck. Gasoline leaks have to be addressed immediately. Rear differential leaks, has to be fixed, but more forgiving.
