I’m stumped. When my gas tank is half full or less the car won’t start on first try most of the time. When I fill up and start the car, it starts immediately then dies. Then I have to crank it for the longest time before it will start again. What gives?

You need an experienced machanic to test it because there are many possibilities like fuel pump and fuel system parts, ignition , sensors and the computer probably has a code that should be read.

You may also have a security fault. Does a security light/message come on the dash when you try to start the engine?
