2001 Dodge Ram 1500 - Clunks

Clunking while in motion

It is twenty one years old, myriad of possible problems.
In as much as you can not locate the area the sound is coming from, take it in to an independent shop and pay for a diagnosis.
Get an estimate, then decide if to repair.

WAG: Universal joint(s). But more info would help.

Does the sound change when coasting in neutral vs in drive? Is the clunk associated with anything else, like when going over a bump? What about turning? There’s no clunking when idling in the driveway, right?

If the noise is in the front and generally happens with bumps and so on then ball joints are always a suspect.
If there is a ball joint issue this is a repair that should be done immediately as it can be life threatening.
