We had our oil changed recently and now the oil pressure gage shoots to 80 as soon as the engine is started. If you check the gages the oil pressure reads 130. Is there a connection with the recent oil change. It has never done this before.
The problem might be with a defective oil filter. If the oil filter on the engine is a by-pass type oil filter, and the by-pass valve sticks it’ll cause the oil pressure to be too high.
Try replacing the oil filter.
