2000 Subaru Forester - Smokes

My burns oil and produces a lot of exhaust smoke, how best I can fix a such problem?

Your car repair shop will have to perform some tests to determine the cause. Common reasons are

  • valve stem seals
  • piston rings
  • pcv system

And it is possible there’s more than one culprit, the exhaust smoke and the oil loss may be unrelated. What the oil consumption, in miles per quart?

How many miles on the engine/vehicle?? What color is the exhaust smoke??
As George already mentioned, how much oil is it burning??

Probably a new, used or reman engine…

And new catalytic converters, oil has probably destroyed the cats.

Most common problem is bad head gaskets on these.

It is likely you’ll need either a new engine or a new car.

As has already been noted, these are signs of an engine on it’s last half of a leg.

The only cheap one you could hope for is a clogged PCV valve.
