2000 Lincoln Continental thermostat

you know i have the same problem. I replaced the thermostat twice, replaced the waterpump, and the radiator, bled out the air from the cross over tube which requires a 1/4 drive. I think what i am going to try next is just drill a hole through the thermostat essentially it will be a stuck open thermostat and that theoretically should do the trick. The car will have a long time heating up to operating temperature but rather that than overheating, and if its time for a smog check make sure you run the car then to operating temp. then drop it off at the smog shop.

If your engine is still overheating, a blown head gasket is likely.

The odds of getting 2 faulty thermostats in a row plus the original being bad are zero; or very close to it.
