2000 Ford Expedition

My 2000 Ford Expedition 5.4L has 154K miles. It recently started leaking coolant and overheating. Mechanic told me it was a cracked intake manifold so I had it replaced. When I picked it up it was ran roughly. New problem. Mechanic replaced two coils. Still running rough. Does the engine have a coil for each cylinder? Is it reasonable that one or all would begin being a problem when the manifold was replaced? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Its more reasonable to think that the mechanic made a mistake when he installed the intake manifold gasket and now you have a vacuum leak. The coils are unrelated.

…and yes, it has a coil for each cylinder.
