Hello all. I’ve got a 2000 Corolla LE with 120,000 odd miles on it. It has a after market dealer installed alarm. This thing has been a source of constant irritation for me ever since I bought it, used, from a small used dealer with 64,000 miles on it, 4 and 1/2 years ago. So anyhoot, I want this thing out. I called a few local places to see the cost. They said anywhere from 50 to 75 bucks to get the thing removed or disabled. I then called the dealer thinking it would be much more expensive, but oh well, I’ll see what they say. They told me if I can find the ECM or Engine Control Module and unplug it, that, that would disable the alarm. The guy told me it would be in the control panel next to the break pedal. What would it look like? Does this prognosis sound accurate?? Thanks for any responses.
