Will I lose all “Vehicle Customization Settings” options if I replace the stock radio with an Android Auto-compatible system?
What customization settings do you have on a 2000 Impala?
I thought I was asking “Someone Who Owns One”… No?
Here’s the manual page with the list: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/231404/Chevrolet-2000-Impala.html?page=77#manual
The answer is Yes and No . Your query ends up on a section of the Car Talk web site. Getting a reply from someone who has a 2000 Impala that has done this exchange might take a long time. You might get a better answer from an after market stereo shop.
The way I read your link is you need the factory radio to access these functions.
Right. It turns out “relocation harnesses” are available that allow for keeping the original radio connected (but relocated, e.g., to the trunk) as well as the replacement. I’m looking into these.
Thanks.
