I have a 2000 toyota celica gt DOHC not sure on engine size thinking 1.3. The car will run about 3 seconds and turn itself off. It will not turn back on but does crank over. After sitting for about 5 to 10 mins it will do the same thing all over again. In the past 4 months the things that have been replaced: spark plugs, coils, throttle position sensor, mass air flow sensor, crankshaft sensor, computer, 1 fuel injector (it was fully clogged up).
What you have done or had done is called throwing parts at it hoping it will get fixed.
You need to find out when it dies and will not restart if the trouble is gas or spark.
Starting fluid or a spark checker or timing light will work for this.
Once you find out witch you can pinpoint trouble and stop wasting money.
You could help narrow the cause of the problem, when it won’t start: 1. Use a starting spray fluid (“ether”) in the engine intake tube. If it then starts, the problem is fuel control.
The parts have been changed cause the coils, plugs, 1 fuel injector, and computer needed changed and once they all got changed this problem started. They have already checked the starter and their computer diagonstic says it is fine. We will try what u all have stated
